The Yellow Ribbon Program

Arcadia is a participating Yellow Ribbon institution. The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows post-secondary institutions in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the V.A. (Veteran's Administration) to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The institution can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and VA will match the same amount as the institution. The V.A. will reimburse up to $700 per credit for tuition costs at Pennsylvania schools (the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate), and will also cover some fees. Arcadia and the V.A. will cover the remaining balance after that for tuition, along with the V.A. (each contributing 50% of the remaining amount as a match). Click here for additional information on the program.

The Yellow Ribbon Program is available to undergraduate (full-time and part-time) students. Additionally, graduate students in the following programs can participate:

  • Master’s programs in: Counseling Psychology, English, Education, Forensic Science,* Genetic Counseling,* Health Education, Humanities, International Peace and Conflict Resolution,* M.B.A.,* Physician Assistant,* Public Health
  • Doctoral programs in Education* and Physical Therapy*

Please remember that you must be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at the 100% rate to be considered for the Yellow Ribbon Program. You must also notify the Office of Financial Aid at the time you apply for financial aid by notating on the Arcadia University Financial Aid Application that you qualify for Yellow Ribbon Program benefits. Failure to notify the Financial Aid Office before you are awarded other financial aid could impede your eligibility for Yellow Ribbon benefits. If you receive any merit scholarship, grant or Graduate Assistantship, the monetary value of these awards will be null and void if you qualify for Yellow Ribbon benefits since these typically apply toward tuition costs only.

*Maximum of two eligible students funded per year
