Stacey Straughter ’09M.B.A.:
Business Leader For Women

“I chose Arcadia because of the opportunity for international experiences and because of the University’s reputation for giving students a global perspective.” “I carry Arcadia on my résumé wherever I go and communicate how good the M.B.A. program is,” she says. “I chose Arcadia because of the opportunity for international experiences and because of the University’s reputation for giving students a global perspective.” Along with members of her M.B.A. Cohort, Straughter has endowed a student scholarship to make an Arcadia education available to a talented and deserving business student.

Straughter works as Communications and Marketing Manager for the New York City based not-for-profit Count Me In. Count Me In promotes women’s economic independence through successful businesses. Straughter began working there in November of 2008. Despite a daily commute from Philadelphia to Manhattan, she thoroughly enjoys helping other women to become business leaders, too.
In her daily work, she uses the business skills she acquired while at Arcadia. This also includes being able to adapt to new situations—an ability she says she developed during her M.B.A. international experiences in Costa Rica and Spain.
Through the program, Straughter learned more about herself and honed her business skills. For this, she is committed to giving back to Arcadia and making the University’s M.B.A. program even stronger.
“As alumni, it is our responsibility to give to the M.B.A. program in order for it to grow,” she says. “We have the ability to make Arcadia even better.”
