Dr. Emanuele Curotto, Associate Professor of Chemistry, helped me start from scratch and guided me throughout the entire training process as well as my summer projects. What I enjoy about working with Dr. Curotto is that he is always patient with students and he is always looking for progress but not perfection.
For my Capstone project, I evaluated the trace of the thermally averaged time evolution operator with a family of quartic potentials by developing an importance sampling density function for the stochastic evaluation of Feynman Path Integrals in real time.
Working on my Capstone project with Dr. Curotto also prepared me for my post-graduation plans. I was in Arcadia’s 3+2 Engineering program, and I am attending Columbia University’s FU School of Engineering and Applied Science. The work I completed at Arcadia has given me a good foundation with which to begin my Chemical Engineering degree at Columbia.
