About the Arcadia Promise
Developing a Distinctive Promise
Led by former Arcadia University President Jerry Greiner, faculty, staff and students met during the fall 2005 semester to discuss what makes Arcadia distinctive and how best to communicate this distinctiveness. As a reference tool, the groups used the University’s five Strategic Directions, identified by Planning Council, which outline Arcadia’s strengths and priorities.
Implementing the Promise
In March of 2006, faculty, staff, students and trustees were surveyed regarding their knowledge of the Arcadia Promise. Beginning March 27, 2006, and continuing through February 2007, personal stories of those in the campus community who are living the Arcadia Promise were featured in Arcadia magazine, the Bulletin, on MyArcadia, and in other campus communications. Throughout this time, various campus departments were featured in the Bulletin in a special "Spotlight" column, to help those in the community better understand the responsibilities of their colleagues and professors.
In March 2007, the campus community was again surveyed to assess its knowledge of the Arcadia Promise.
