Description:
The position of Assistant Dean for the School of Continuing Studies requires an individual who has experience working with public or private schools, has a strong track record in new program development, and an equally strong entrepreneurial drive. The position requires that the individual work with school districts, charter and independent schools and the Pennsylvania Department of Education to provide online degree options, onsite courses / degrees and special programs. This individual should have well-rounded skills, such as an understanding of business procedures, in order to grow into other responsibilities, as the School of Continuing Education expands. The position will report to the Dean of Continuing Studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop partnerships with school districts, charter schools and independent school partners.
- Implement and monitor outreach programs for degree programs, or other educational purposes.
- Be the Arcadia liaison to school districts, charter schools and independent schools in matters related to onsite degree programs, online courses and special programs; investigate opportunities and follow-up on inquiries related to collaborations between Arcadia University and school districts, charter and independent schools, PDE and/or federal and state programs.
- Explore, develop and direct grant opportunities with school districts, charter schools, and independent school partners.
- Maintain contacts with school districts, charter and independent schools, PDE, and/or federal and state programs on a regular basis.
- Have knowledge of teacher certification programs and other certificates related to human services personnel.
- Identify and explore entrepreneurial opportunities.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess at least a Masters Degree, Ed.D. or Ph.D. preferred.
