The Department of Biology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neurobiology beginning in the Fall of 2010. Ranked among the top tier of comprehensive universities in the northern region of the United States, Arcadia University is a coeducational institution located in suburban Philadelphia that offers undergraduate and graduate study to more than 4,000 students annually. Applicants should have research interests in neurobiology. We especially encourage applications from neurobiology candidates able to employ a variety of approaches to one or more of the following sub-disciplines of neurobiology: developmental neuroscience, molecular and cellular neuroscience, neuroendocrionology, and systems neuroscience. In addition to teaching an upper level neurobiology course to biology majors, the successful candidate will teach in the general biology courses. Expertise in areas meeting other departmental teaching needs may also be considered.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate and experience teaching at the university level. A dedication to teaching biology majors and non-majors as well as an interest in engaging undergraduate students in research is expected, so post-doctoral experience is desired.
