Description:

Arcadia University seeks candidates for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of English beginning August 2010. Specialist in African-American literature. Preferred areas of specialization might include one or more of the following: Black Cinema, the Harlem Renaissance, Slave Narratives, the Black Arts movement, Postcolonial and Black Diaspora literature, Black Atlantic literature or contemporary African-American literature.

Ph.D. preferred, ABD required. Central to the position is program development of African-American literature offerings. The successful candidate also must be prepared to teach first-year writing courses. Interviews at MLA.
