The Modern Languages Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of French beginning August 2010. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate language courses at all levels and French culture related courses.
Doctorate required at time of application with 3-5 years teaching experience at the college level, and a wide cultural view not only of French culture but also about La Francophonie. Candidates must have a broad intellectual understanding of French contributions in the arts, literature, politics, as well as topics relating to France, Europe and the world. Candidates must be prepared to organize and lead academic experiences to France or other francophone countries.
