The University is known for a progressive and liberal approach to academic subjects. Students enroll in courses in one of twelve colleges; seven are devoted to the arts and social sciences and five to the sciences and engineering. These colleges are the focus of your intellectual life while at the University.

Sussex has a well rounded offering of courses for many different majors. Of particular interest are courses in International Relations, British Politics, English and Drama, Business and Management Studies, Engineering, and Life Sciences, among many more. The beautiful and green campus is located near the popular and artsy seaside towns of Brighton and Hove.

Courses may be selected among various departments. You will earn the following hours of credit:

  • Fall semester: 16 credits
  • Spring semester: 16 credits
  • Academic year: 32 credits

Admission Requirements

GPA Requirements: 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.
