Santa Clara University
Sydney Internship Program
Orientation and Co-Curricular Learning
All of our programs begin with a comprehensive orientation. Led by Arcadia staff in Australia, orientation will be an excellent introduction to your time in Australia and is a mandatory component of an Arcadia study abroad experience.
Orientation will feature:
- cultural and recreational activities.
- sessions about customs and traditions.
- guidance concerning academic policies and procedures.
- advice to help you settle into housing.
- information on health and safety, banking, and the Australian academic system.
- discussion of cross-cultural issues.
Events and excursions designed to enhance your understanding of Australian culture will take place throughout the program. Our Australian staff will discuss this in detail—including dates and how to reserve your place—during orientation. All Arcadia excursions attach great importance to the notions of safety, experiential learning and cultural understanding.
Co-Curricular Learning Certificate
This a record of the student’s non-academic co-curricular and extra-curricular learning experiences. The CLC is a self-directed opportunity organized under a series of themes explained at orientation. Students spend a prescribed amount of hours engaged in activities that contribute to the completion of a reflective piece. The work is assessed by The College of Global Studies and the certificate is awarded to students meeting the criteria. For more information, please visit this page.
