Accommodation in residential colleges at the University of Queensland is very competitive. A limited number of spaces are available for Arcadia students at Emmanuel College and International House.
Students applying to live in residential colleges should do so with the goal of becoming a part of the residential college community, as social involvement is key to a successful semester and is expected of all residents at Emmanuel College and International House.
With more than 300 students, Emmanuel College is located just a short walk to the main buildings of the University of Queensland. Residents enjoy fully-catered accommodation and private single rooms, as well as the small gym and common areas. Students will be provided with linen upon arrival. Emmanuel kicks off each semester with a barbecue in the courtyard and many residents participate in clubs and other activities on campus throughout the semester.
Located on the St. Lucia campus, International House provides fully-catered accommodation in single rooms within larger "Towers" of 4 or 5 students, which include a shared bathroom. All Towers are comprised of male and female students, and International House pays close attention to making sure that each Tower is diverse with as many nationalities as possible. Common areas are scattered through International House and social activities are planned throughout the semester, often with a focus on cultural diversity.
Urbanest student apartments are located in Southbank, which is Brisbane's urban playground with beautiful parklands and art galleries near by, and it is just a short stroll over the river to the CBD. It is an ideal location for all students as it is near all of Brisbane's major Universities and it is close to a number of different public transport options.
Students will be housed in fully furnished, self catered apartments. Each apartment houses five or six students in private bedrooms, complete with their own bathroom and study area. Students will share a communal living and kitchen area. Students will be provided with their own linen and an internet package upon arrival. Students will have access to many events throughout the semester designed to help them make new friends and get to know Brisbane better.
