Providing a unique blend of location, integration, amenities, and service, the Arcadia housing in NUI Galway allows students to experience all of the opportunities available in the city and at the University.
Arcadia University traditionally houses all of our NUIG students at Gort na Coiribe. Students reside in townhouse style flats or apartment style flats with Irish and other American students. The number of residents may vary from three to eight, depending on the style of accommodation. Students will be required to share a room. Student flats may be co-ed, however any individual roommate will be of the same gender.
Gort na Coiribe is self-catered and students are able to shop at any of the conveniently nearby markets. Each flat has a fully equipped kitchen, shared bathrooms and living area, with television and modern amenities. Self-service laundry facilities are available within the complex. Telephones are located in every flat for flat to flat calls only; calling cards are required for making local and long distance. Broadband internet access is provided; however limitations may be imposed by Gort na Coiribe management. Optional gym facilities are available at an additional cost. Payment is received at the gym.
Gort na Coiribe is located equidistant from the Galway city center and NUI Galway. Students should expect a 15-20 minute commute (walking) to Eyre Square and campus. More information is available online at www.gortnacoiribe.ie.
If necessary, Arcadia may place students in alternative accommodations of comparable standard and within a similar distance to campus.
