About the Arcadia Center
The Arcadia Center for Hellenic, Mediterranean and Balkan Studies and Research is a non-profit educational and cultural institution. The study abroad program operated under the umbrella of the Arcadia Center is a member of the family of programs operated by The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University.
The Arcadia Center for Hellenic, Mediterranean, and Balkan Studies provides an environment that will enable you to learn about Greece – its language, history and culture. You'll discover the issues and concerns that are shaping Greece today. Small classes, close contact with professors and living in a Greek neighborhood are just some of the characteristics that make the Arcadia Center program such a wonderful study abroad opportunity. It's an ideal program to introduce you to a fascinating country, whether you've always been interested in the classics, you want a different perspective on Europe, or you just want to study someplace that has a very distinct culture.
At the Arcadia Center, you'll learn from accomplished instructors who have extensive experience working with study abroad students and who live, work, and study in Athens themselves. Each faculty member has a knowledge of the similarities and differences between North American and Greek cultures and will understand your needs and concerns. You'll enjoy the Arcadia Center's central location, which is within walking distance of Syntagma (Constitution) Square, a bustling commercial area and the governmental core of Athens. Moreover, when you need to undertake research, you'll appreciate the Center's close proximity to the National Library, the American School of Classical Studies, and the British School of Archaeology.
