Bangor University Housing Information
Return to Wales Housing Information Page
The accommodation office at Bangor will make all final housing assignments based on availability. Students are not asked to indicate a hall preference, but rather to provide us with information that will assist the Bangor housing officer in making appropriate housing arrangements. University regulations require that you contract to remain in your assigned housing for the full duration of your program.
Ffriddoedd Student Residences
Students participating in the Arcadia program at Bangor University are placed in self-catered halls at the Ffriddoedd site. Self-catering accommodation means you are responsible for your own meals. Fully equipped kitchens, with a refrigerator, oven, stove and cabinets for food storage, are available on each floor. You are expected to provide your own cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. These items can be purchased inexpensively in Bangor.
Each student will be offered a single en-suite bedroom with a private bathroom, work/study space, bed, wardrobe, and chair.
Linens and Laundry
Linens are not provided, but you can purchase a bedding pack upon arrival for approximately $55.00-$60.00 (£30.00). This bedding pack includes sheets and pillowcases. Blankets and pillows are provided to all students. Students must bring their own towels. Launderettes are available on campus for students to do their personal laundry.
Housing Between Terms
If you would like to remain in residence during part or all of a long break, the cost will be covered by the Arcadia University College of Global Studies. Only full year students are eligible for housing over the Christmas holiday. You will be responsible for making your own arrangements with accommodations officer for paying appropriate fees. You may submit your receipt to Arcadia's London office for reimbursement. You may be asked to change rooms or residence halls. If you do not wish to remain in residence over the term break, you may be asked to store your belongings. Storage areas will be available to you. For more information please refer to the Ffraw Hall page of the Bangor University Website.
