As the third oldest university in England, Durham boasts an academic tradition dating back a thousand years. Durham consistently receives top ratings from many university guides in the areas of academics and student satisfaction, and has one of the highest proportions of graduates continuing on to advanced studies in the UK.
The academic year at Durham is divided into three, 11-week terms. Teaching is provided by lectures and seminars, supplemented by tutorials. Academic resources, such as libraries and laboratories, are available to all students. With opportunities for interdisciplinary study in the Faculties of Arts, Science, Social Science, and a Business school, Durham offers something for everyone. You will enroll in 3-4 courses per term for a total of 12-16 credits.
Credits
You will earn the following hours of credit.
- Single fall term: 12 credits.
- Spring two terms: 24 credits.
- Academic year 36 credits.
Admission Requirements
GPA Requirements: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.
