Glasgow School of ArtStudy Abroad at Clasgow School of Art with Arcadia University

Architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh is an alumni of GSA. As a pioneer in the art nouveau movement he designed the main building which also houses student studio space. Each study abroad student will have their own studio space. Emphasis is placed on studio work and continuous interaction and discussion with instructors and visiting artists.

Victorian College of Arts and Music - University of MelbourneStudy Abroad at VCA with Arcadia

The VCA and Music is a premier fine arts institution beautifully located in Melbourne’s vibrant arts district. Students study in a specialized faculty department that is part of the University of Melbourne. In addition to practicing respective media students also take courses from the Centre of Ideas. This is a cross-disciplinary department where students explore the interaction between artistic practice and wider social, political and social contexts.

The fine arts department is located at Griffith’s Southbank campus. It is in the heart of Brisbane’s cultural and entertainment district. Griffith offers a fine photography laboratory and studio space as well as specialized animation curriculum.

Australian National UniversityStudy Abroad at ANU with Arcadia

The School of Art at ANU was established in 1974 and offers multiple media for student study and discovery. An integral philosophy of the school is to ask students to express their studies through current technologies as well as traditional means. The School of Art (SoA) works with the community to host several public events each year including the ArtsAct and the CraftsAct.

Ireland

Burren College of ArtStudy Abroad at Burren College of Art with Arcadia

The Burren is located in a small comfortable city in Ireland named Ballyvaughan.  Students become part of this community as the college is an integral part of its existence.  The location is special as it located in the the Burren region of Ireland.  Although it is sometimes described as barren it is actually a specialized microclimate for an abundance of nature.  The program is small, intimate and international in it lecturers and student body.

Umbra InstituteStudy Abroad at Umbra Institute

The Umbra Institute offers students the opportunity to study their media in a beautiful Umbrian city using the local landscape. Specialized to the region students have the opportunity to study historic frescos as well as take practical studio courses in frescos. Students all have studio space and are encouraged to reflect on their cross-cultural experience using the local landscape

Accademia ItalianaAccademia Italiana Rome

The Accademia Italiana is a premier Italian design and fine arts program. The Accademia is an international program offering courses in both Italian and English. Students are not required to have fluency in Italian, and although some advanced art & design courses utilize Italian as a first language they are visual instruction courses and students can work with bilingual faculty and staff to understand and complete assigned projects. The Accademia recently opened a beautiful new art studio and practice space with amazing views of the river Arno. Natural light and space is abundant in this highly specialized program.
