About Study Abroad in Granada through Arcadia
You can design a study experience through the Arcadia Center for Contemporary Studies in Spain that's uniquely yours! Choose to focus on one area of study, such as Environmental Studies or Islamic Studies ... take a combination of courses ... or take intensive Spanish language and culture courses through the Centro de Lenguas Modernas at the University of Granada. More advanced Spanish language students can even enroll in courses alongside Spanish students at the University of Granada. Please speak to your program manager for details.

- All Arcadia students enroll in an intensive one-month language course at the beginning of the semester.
Program

Superior-level students can directly enroll in courses at the University of Granada. All Arcadia program participants will spend the first month of the program in an intensive language course administered by the University of Granada's Centro de Lenguas Modernas (CLM).
Founded in 1531 by Carlos V, the University of Granada has been an exceptional witness to history and is a vital intellectual and cultural nucleus for the region of Andalucía in Southern Spain. Of Granada’s 300,000 residents, nearly 80,000 are university students, and the University’s campus is spread throughout the city, making Granada a true “college town." The University has 17 distinct schools and numerous research centers and offers 51 degrees in subjects as varied as health sciences, law, business, translation and interpretation, communications, computer science, physics, environmental sciences, physical therapy, fine arts, philosophy, and economics.

For an additional fee, students can spend four days and four nights in Morocco through Morocco Exchange, a non-profit organization for cross-cultural education. Please contact your program manager for details.
Those students who participate in this program are eligible for notation on their Co-Curricular Learning Certificate.

You will earn the following semester hours of credit:
- Fall and spring semester: 15-18 credits
Admission Requirements
GPA Requirements: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
To be considered for direct enrollment at the University of Granada, you must have six semesters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent. You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation from a Spanish faculty member, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.
