UTS offers Sound and Music Design. This course is the first of its kind to combine the domains of sound and music, and prepare students for new emerging areas that require the integration of sound in product and interaction. Sound and Music Design at UTS appeals to students with an interest in music, creative arts, design and technology or multimedia. It converges creative practice (art thinking) and innovative solution (design thinking) through music and sound. It offers a unique, contemporary sound and music degree experience by merging art and technology across domains of composition, entertainment and audio technology, as well as combining features of music and audio engineering with interaction design.

The University of Canterbury School of Music offers an exciting range of courses at the undergraduate level in performance, composition, digital music, ethno-musicology, music history and research, musicianship and music education.

The South African College of Music offers training in a range of orchestral instruments, piano, voice, African music and jazz. The College boasts several string, wind, jazz and percussion ensembles as well as choirs, a symphony orchestra and Jazz Big Band.
