Royal Veterinary College Course Registration

The Course Selection Process

The RVC runs a 'modularized' degree program consisting of various course Modules and research-intensive Projects. Similar to American classes, Modules run for the entire 12-week term with students attending lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory sessions two days per week. Projects also run for the entire 12-week term, with students completing their research and laboratory work when they are not attending lectures or seminars in their Module. Students can elect to take half Modules or half Projects which still run for the entire 12-week term but which meet less frequently. Full-time students at the RVC normally select one full Module and one half Research Project per term.

RVC students are able to select from a range of full and half Modules and half Projects. More information on the modules available to study abroad students can be found here. More information on research projects is available hereIt is important to be aware of the prerequisites for some Modules and the number of credit hours awarded for each Module or Project:

Full Module = 8 semester hours of credit
Half Module = 4 semester hours of credit
Half Research Project = 8 semester hours of credit

Check with your Program Manager if you are unsure if you meet the prerequisites for a particular Module.
