About Queensland University of Technology
The University is comprised of two campuses. Gardens Point, an urban location on a bend of the Brisbane River is bordered by the central business district, the Brisbane River, and the City Botanical Garden. Courses at Gardens Point reflect the location of the campus: engineering, sciences, built environment, information technology and business are all offered on this campus. You'll find that the campus blends into the city, giving students access to many cultural, shopping and nightlife opportunities.
Kelvin Grove, located 10 minutes north of the center of Brisbane is particularly popular for students interested in communication, the performance arts, and digital media. This modern campus has become a center for cultural activities for all of Brisbane with modern theaters and performance venues. Regular shuttle bus services also mean that you can actually take courses at both Kelvin Grove and Garden Point.
No matter which QUT campus you are at, you'll find plenty of ways to integrate into campus life. An active Student Guild organizes clubs and societies, runs entertainment venues and cafes on all of the campuses, and supports fitness centers at Garden Point and Kelvin Grove. An active Student Guild makes up for the fact that QUT has no on-campus accommodation. Don't worry about finding a place to live however as Arcadia will take care of that. Most QUT students live along the Brisbane River and those at Garden Point find a leisurely river ferry or a bike ride along the river to be a great way to commute to campus.
