Study Abroad at the University of Adelaide with Arcadia University

About the University of Adelaide

The main campus of the University is located in the heart of the city of Adelaide, adjacent to both the business and shopping district and the parklands bordering the River Torrens. The University takes advantage of its proximity to cultural and educational facilities. It has a strong collaborative relationship with the Art Gallery of South Australia, with which it runs a joint degree in Art History, and with the South Australian Museum.

The State Library, Festival Centre, Art Gallery, Zoological Gardens and the Botanical Gardens are all within close proximity to the campus and add to the rich cultural life of the campus. The North Terrace campus is easily accessible, with a stimulating social and intellectual environment, making it a popular choice with students.

The Adelaide University Union runs many of the non-academic activities and services that make the campus a tight-knit community. Through its Students' Association, the Union provides representation for the students' voice to the University, the Government and the wider community. The Clubs Association and the Sports Association offers students the opportunity for involvement in nearly 40 sports and more than 80 interest groups.

The University enjoys strong links with the local community through a diverse range of activities, many of which also engage members of the community as volunteers within the University. Such programs include the TREENET project (dedicated to improving suburban streetscapes) and Radio Adelaide (committed to progressive educational and multicultural programming). The internationally-acclaimed Australian String Quartet is quartet-in-residence at the University of Adelaide and The University of Adelaide Theatre Guild is a University-supported community theatre company established in 1938 and based at the University of Adelaide's North Terrace campus. The University also contributes significantly to many community-based cultural events. These include the Adelaide Festival of Arts, the Adelaide Fringe, the Adelaide Festival of Ideas, National Science Week and Tasting Australia.
