Thea Stevens is an art and architectural historian with a wide range of interests within visual culture. After studying at the University of Glasgow, she lived for several years in Italy, specializing in medieval art afterwards at the University of Warwick and returning to Glasgow to undertake a doctorate. Since then, she has taught art, design and architectural history at the universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow and at the art schools of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee, and at the moment she holds a Teaching Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh. Thea balances her teaching and research with a keen investment in cultural heritage, and has led educational field trips for students and adults informed by her interest in the interpretation of sites and objects. She is particularly passionate about lending insights into her adopted Scottish environment; she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the art, architecture and history of the country, as well as a keen interest in the visual art scene that has made Scotland such a vibrant destination.
