Dr. Mangione is a Board Certified Specialist in the area of Geriatric Physical Therapy. Currently Dr. Mangione is a member of the APTA participating in sections on Geriatrics and Research. The majority of Dr. Mangione’s research is focused on the geriatric population. She investigates the effects of exercise in frail older adults, such as those who have suffered hip fractures. She has collaborated with the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania to study exercise in nursing home eligible, African American older adults in a Program of All-Inclusive Care (PACE ).
