Technology's Role in the K-12 Classroom

Many teachers understand the importance of integrating technology into today's classrooms. However, many teachers still struggle with how they can utilize technology as a partner in the learning process. In order to address this issue, teachers must feel comfortable not only with using technology, but understand how to plan for its effective use.

Teachers will participate in two and a half days of hands-on sessions that focus on current free Internet resources used in the design of web-based activities. Designed from a problem-based learning approach, this course gives teachers real-world classroom situations that require them to work collaboratively in finding efficient and effective ways for creating inquiry based activities like webquests. Teachers will leave the course with the ability to successfully integrate these skills into their day-to-day teaching practices.
