Out-of-school time offers opportunities for learning that are distinctly different from the school day. Turning those opportunities into dynamic, effective programming requires a special set of skills, whether applied to extended day, afterschool, before school, or summer programming. See how to put theories of learning into action, spark youths interest, and support academic and social skill-building using non-formal methods.
Join your colleagues from around the country for three dynamic days of hands-on activities, projects, and demonstrations, and get what you need to take back and put content into practice at your sites, with your children and youth. Follow-up online sessions go deeper with research, resources and practice, through discussion and reflection, and keep you connected with the Institute’s learning community.
The Teaching and Learning in Out-of-School Time Institute is offered in partnership with the Foundations Inc. Center for Afterschool Education. This course is part of a 15-credit Graduate Certificate in Afterschool Education and credits can be applied toward a master's degree in Education.
