IPCR Careers: Environmental Conflict Management and Sustainable Development

IPCR has created this distinct track for students with a particular interest in environmental conflict management. This track focuses on conflict that is rooted in environmental conservation, resource scarcity and regional development. IPCR M.A. candidates electing to focus on environmental conflict will study the interaction of mankind's political, social, and technological activities with the environment through the looking glass of the natural and social sciences.

Students pursuing this track will make use of the foundation courses currently being offered in the IPCR program with the option of substituting electives offered in the Environmental Studies program for the Study Abroad requirement. These courses include options such as Human Ecology: Use of Natural Resources; Society and the Environment; Urban Ecology; and Special Studies in Environmental Education.

Individuals applying to the IPCR M.A. program and interested in the Environmental Conflict Management Track should notify the IPCR Program Director during the application process.
