MBA Curriculum and Degree Requirements

Curriculum

The Arcadia M.B.A. with an International Perspective focuses on information management and other core skills needed to achieve sustainable outcomes in a variety of domestic and international business settings. Several important themes are reflected throughout the curriculum:

Global Perspective—The program gives students an understanding of management decision-making in environments where cultural, social and economic models and expectations are different from those in a strictly U.S. context. The two study abroad courses are designed to provide real-world immersion in foreign business situations. Likewise, the best practices and management models to be studied are those that have international as well as domestic applications.

Improved Decision-Making—Students become familiar with the latest management decision-making tools and techniques that represent the current best practices of successful companies. Decision-making areas include marketing, finance and operations.

Social Responsibility—Students become aware and sensitized to the impact that business decisions have on society. They learn how to develop sustainable organizations by planning within a balanced ethical framework.

Integrative Learning—This is the cornerstone of the Arcadia approach and refers to the integration of formal learning with real-world opportunities for practice and application. The Arcadia M.B.A. program emphasizes the understanding and use of skills and business leadership styles for effective planning and strategizing. The study abroad components present students with concrete business situations in which to apply these understandings.

Each semester consists of seven weeks of classes with a two-week break before the next semester.
