The Cohort Model

The Arcadia M.B.A. with an International Perspective is a cohort model accelerated part-time program, which means that groups of students will go through the program together, providing mutual support and a sharing of expertise. Small class size fosters a high level of support and interaction between faculty and students.

Unique Required Study Abroad Business Experiences

The Arcadia M.B.A. with an International Perspective is the only part-time degree program in the area to include two separate one-week study abroad experiences. These experiences provide students with a firsthand look at business practices in both a developed and developing economy. By contrasting and comparing two very different economic, cultural, and social environments, students will better understand how to manage a diverse range of production, marketing, financial and economic variables.

The international experiences are held in a variety of locations, and the department is constantly researching new areas to visit. Cohorts have visited the countries of Ireland and Dominica, and future experiences are being developed in London, Costa Rica, Rome, and China, among others. The experiences consist of on-site visits at leading businesses, classes taught by both Arcadia and local university leaders, as well as meetings with key business officials for the country.

The two international experiences are required courses in the program and are 2 credits each. The experiences are included in the cost of the program, and the student does not pay anything additional. The Department makes all travel arrangements for students.

Accelerated Program, Convenient Schedule

The Arcadia M.B.A. with an International Perspective is organized into five semesters over 22 months. Each of the classroom courses will meet one night a week for seven weeks. The two study abroad courses will be conducted for one week each in non-consecutive semesters. The M.B.A. program culminates in the capstone Global Strategic Management course that brings together prior learning from classroom and international travel experiences to focus on the strategies and best practices of top management at global corporations.
