General Admissions Procedures
Application Deadline
All applications are processed by the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) at www.caspaonline.org. Official transcripts and references are considered part of the CASPA application and should be sent directly to CASPA. A paper application is available by calling CASPA at 240-497-1895.
Applications will not be accepted by CASPA after January 15. Notification of admission is made to applicants on a rolling basis, and candidates are expected to reply by the date indicated.
Deposit
A $500 deposit must accompany the acceptance reply. This deposit is applied to the first semester's tuition, but it is nonrefundable if the student fails to enter the program on the date for which he or she is accepted. A second deposit of $1,000 is required by April 1. Arcadia's application deadline is January 15.
Deferred Admission
Accepted students who want to defer their admission for one year must submit their request to do so in writing to the program Director. Deferrals will be granted by department on an individual basis. Once the deferral is granted, students must submit the required deposit to reserve a seat in the class. This deposit will be credited toward tuition. Students who are granted a deferral must understand that they will be subject to the prevailing tuition at the time of matriculation to the program.
Post-Baccalaureate Health Science Certificate
Students with a bachelor's degree who lack or need to retake prerequisites for admission to the PA program may want to consider the Post-Baccalaureate Health Science Certification, which is described in the Undergraduate Catalog.
