Scholarship Opportunities
for Transfer Students
Note: All Arcadia merit scholarships apply toward tuition costs only. If another scholarship or award will cover all or part of a student's tuition costs, the merit scholarship will be replaced or reduced. For more information, email the Financial Aid Office at finaid@arcadia.edu. Amounts listed are effective for the respective academic year listed. All awards are renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing and is enrolled full time on the undergraduate level.
Distinguished Scholarships
Transfer applicants who are accepted as full-time students will automatically be reviewed for Distinguished Scholarships. There is not a separate application for these awards. Annual scholarships go up to $18,000* per year for full-time transfer students entering fall 2010/spring 2011. Transfer students are evaluated on the basis of their cumulative GPA and coursework. Members of Phi Theta Kappa entering the University are guaranteed a minimum of $16,000 per year for full-time undergraduate study provided their cumulative transfer GPA (from all institutions combined) is 3.5 or better and they have earned a minimum of 30 credits. Additionally, completed coursework must be from at least two general academic disciplines, and, the student must have completed full-time courseloads at his/her prior institution. Members of Alpha Beta Gamma are guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 per year for full-time undergraduate study provided their cumulative transfer GPA (from all institutions combined) is 3.0 or better and they have earned a minimum of 30 credits. Note: Students that are members of both Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Beta Gamma will receive one Distinguished Scholarship, which will be the higher of either the PTK or ABG amounts they qualify for (for a potential annual maximum Distinguished Scholarship of $18,000 for fall 2010/spring 2011).
The Distinguished Scholarship is renewable each year provided the student remains a full-time undergraduate in good academic standing.
*Transfer Distinguished Scholarships go up to $16,000 for those entering spring 2010.
Achievement Awards
These awards honor exceptional participation in school activities, community service, volunteer work, work experience, or special talents. Applicants are encouraged to include a list of these accomplishments with their application. Awards go up to $6,000 per year. Like the Distinguished Scholarship, students are automatically considered for an Achievement Award upon applying to the University.
