Men's & Women's Soccer to battle Messiah for Commonwealth Title
With runner-up finishes in the regular season, #2 Arcadia Men's & Women's Soccer eliminated the #3 Elizabethtown Blue Jays to advance to their first and the University's first Commonwealth Conference championship game since entering the league in 2008.  Awaiting both teams are the defending Commonwealth and Division III national champions, Messiah College, who will host the Knights this Saturday at Shoemaker Field at the Starry Athletic Field Complex in Grantham, PA.  The women's title game will begins at 4:30 PM followed by the men's championship game at 7:30 PM.  Championship Information...


Swimming opens season with split against FDU-Florham
Arcadia University Swimming opened the 2009-2010 season at home Wednesday evening, hosting the Devils of FDU-Florham in a Middle Atlantic Conference meet.  While the men were defeated by the visiting Devils 82-91, Arcadia's women earned their first win of the season by a 107-96 margin.  Sophomore Jessica Parker paced the women's squad with three, first place victories along with first year Ashley Decker, who earned a pair of first place times and one runner-up finish.  For the men, senior captain Stephen Neafsey finished the evening with three, first place wins.  Read more...

Twice as nice! Knight's end Elizabethtown's season and head to Championship Game
Junior Joe Clementi netted his 18th goal of the season, and fifth game winner as Arcadia University Men's Soccer handed the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College another 1-0 defeat on Kuch Center Field, this time in today's semi final round of the Men's Soccer Commonwealth Conference tournament.  The Knights (13-5-3) advance to their first conference championship game since they won the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship in 2006.  Read more...

Knights Blast Blue Jays 3-0 to Advance to League Finals
Arcadia University Women's Soccer, the number two seed, outpaced the number three seed Elizabethtown College Blue Jays by a 3-0 margin in today's Commonwealth semi finals to advance to their first Commonwealth Conference Championship game in just their second year in the league.  Junior Janelle Jablonski scored twice and junior Katie O'Malley notched the game winner while first year keeper Jacki Law earned her 11th shutout of the season in today's win. Arcadia will attempt to dethrown defending champion #1 Messiah, who knocked off the #4 seed Albright Lions Tuesday evening by a lopsided 8-0 margin to advance to Saturday's championship title game.  Read more...

Men's Soccer draw with Alvernia; Earn home field for league semi finals
In a game the Knights needed to win to secure a home field avantage for Wednesday's Commonwealth semi finals, instead, they settled for a double overtime draw against host Alvernia University in today's league regular season finale.  Read more...

Women's Soccer secure post-season home field with 2-0 win at Alvernia
Juniors Dana Faulks and Janelle Jablonski each scored a second half goal to lead Arcadia University past Alvernia University 2-0 in today's regular season Commonwealth finale.  The win is the Knight's 14th of the season (14-1-3, 6-1 CC) as they finish the regular season with a lock on the second seed for the league championships which will begin on Tuesday, November 3.  Arcadia will host an opponent yet to be determined. Read more... 

Field Hockey concludes season with 6-0 win at Bryn Mawr
First-year Marilyn Beatty had a career day scoring four goals to lead the Knights over Bryn Mawr College. Beatty by the conclusion of the first half already had a hat trick in the books, and secured her fourth goal in the 53rd minute of play. Junior Caroline Champi and Sophomore Staci Faye each scored a goal a piece in the Knights effort. Read more...

Field Hockey battles, can't overcome Messiah; Fall 7-0 

Messiah College entered today's contest with a perfect record and ranked #1 in the NCAA polls, and showed early how they earned such respect. Despite the scrappy defense of Arcadia, the Falcons rushed out to a 4-0 lead at the half and tacked on three more goals early in the second to defeat the Knights 7-0 in Commonwealth Conference action. Read more...

Arcadia Volleyball settled for a disappointing 3-0 season ending loss Wednesday night, coming at the hands of Commonwealth foe Widener University.  Game scores were 25-12, 25-18, 25-20.  Read more...

Field Hockey to travel to Widener for tonight's Commonwealth game
Due to Blankley Field's unplayable conditions, Arcadia Field Hockey will travel to Chester, PA for tonight's 5 PM game at Widener.  

Women's Soccer unable to weather Falcons
Locked for first place overall in the Commonwealth Conference standings, Arcadia University and #1 Messiah met this evening in a make up of their originally scheduled women's soccer showdown on Oct. 17, postponed due to heavy rains ten days back.  And despite tonight's steady presence of rain that soaked Shoemaker Field the two teams, entering the game with identical 5-0 league marks, battled for sole posession with the defending league and Division III champs earning bragging rights with a 4-0 win on their home field.

Men's Soccer enter NSCAA Mid-Atlantic top ten
For the first time this season, Arcadia Men's Soccer has been selected as one of the Mid-Atlantic region's top ten teams by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).  The NCSAA/Adidas poll voted the Knights in following a 1-0-1 week in Commonwealth play that saw the team play Widener to a scoreless double OT draw before handing #24 Elizabethtown just their second loss of the year, a 1-0 victory for the Knights on Saturday.  Read more...

Knights jump five places in NSCAA/Adidas Mid-Atlantic rankings
Arcadia Women's Soccer jumped from #10 in last week's NSCAA/Adidas Mid-Atlantic rankings to #5 following a 2-0 week in Commonwealth play that began as the Knights knocked off Widener, last week's #5 team, now tied for #6, 4-2 on Tuesday before a thrilling 3-2 double overtime comeback win over Elizabethtown on Saturday.  Read more...


Kratohwill, O'Malley Tabbed league Players of the Week
Men's Soccer senior Jeff Kratohill and Women's Soccer junior Katie O'Malley have been tabbed as Commonwealth Goalie and Player of the Week for their respective sports.  Kratohwill guided his Knights to a 2-0 week in league play with a pair of shutouts, that included a double overtime draw at Widener and a 1-0 win at home against #24 Elizabthtown.  O'Malley paced the women's program to a 2-0 week with a pair of come from behind wins at Widener (4-2) and a 3-2 double overtime victory at home against Elizabethtown, where she scored the equalizer and the overtime goal. 

#3 Messiah Hangs First League Loss on Knights
Making a statement in their past two Commonwealth outings, the #3 Messiah (15-1, 5-0 CC) College Falcons hung an 8-0 loss on Arcadia University Monday evening, the Falcons' second straight 8- win following Saturday's 8-0 victory over Alvernia.  Joshua Wood opened the scoring just 1:21 into the contest before adding two more for the hat trick as the # nationally ranked team solidified their place atop the Commonwealth standings. Knights' #2 doubles pair and three singles players advance at MAC's
Arcadia Women's Tennis sent their #2 doubles pair into the semi finals while three individual players advanced out of Saturday's first round action at the 2009 MAC Women's Tennis Individual Championships in Wilkes-Barre, PA.   Read more...

Men's Soccer Overpower #24 Elizabethtown
Just an hour following today's women's soccer game that saw the Knights reel three unanswered scores to defeat Elizabethtown Women's Soccer 3-2 in double-overtime, Arcadia Men's Soccer played spoilers to the #24 Etown Men's squad who were looking to extend their undefeated streak to 8 games.  By the end of a muddy and drenched ninety minutes of regulation, it was Arcadia who notched their 6th straight shutout and ran their own undefeated streak to 6 as the Knights knocked off the Blue Jays 1-0 in this afternoon's Commonwealth battle in Glenside.  Read more...

Curreri, Champi Selected to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area
John Curreri and Anthony Champi were two of eleven Philadelphia area student-athletes recently named to the 2009 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Baseball Team, which is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.  Both Curreri and Champi recently concluded their collegiate playing careers for the Knights.  Read more...

Twenty Five Knights Tabbed to Spring All Academic Honor Roll
The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation announced their tri-annual Academic Honor Roll with twenty five Knights being named to the list of 315 conference honorees.  The Honor Roll comprises those student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and completed the playing season in good standing.  Read more...

Knights Selected to Sportsmanship Teams
The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation announces its first annual sportsmanship teams for spring 2009 conference sports.  These teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season.  The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.  Tim Smith '09 (Baseball), Jaime Bee '09 (Softball), Jenni Groves '11 (Women's Lacrosse) and Bart Blankenship '11 (Men's Tennis) were named to their respective Spring All Sportsmanship Team for their sport.

Curreri, Pempkowski Earn All Conference Honors 

Graduate student John Curreri and junior Matt Pempkowski have been awarded All Commonwealth selections for their efforts on the diamond in 2009.  Curreri, a student in Arcadia’s Physical Therapy graduate program, receives his second straight First Team selection after making first team in the Freedom Conference in 2008.   Pempkowski, a Business Administration major, was named Second Team All Commonwealth.  Read more... 


Burns leads six Knights on Softball All Conference Teams
With a team leading 41 RBI and her most productive season at the plate, Arcadia junior catcher Kristen Burns was named First Team All Commonwealth in her first season as the starting catcher for the Knights. Burns lead a class of six Knights named All Conference, which also includes seniors Diana Rufo and Kiersten Hughes, sophomore Virginia Buechel and first years Lindsay Henchinski and Jennifer Sevitski.

The first year forward erupted for a career high 4 goals in the Knights 6-0 season ending win over Bryn Mawr on Saturday.  Beatty ties the school record for goals in a game with 4.  Saturday's goals were the first for her career, finishing her first season on the team second overall in points with 10 (4G, 2A).
