Pioneers top Knights in non-conference swimming
Glenside, PA:  11/18/09 -  [Results] William Paterson University staved off an early test from Arcadia's women's squad in the opening events eventually taking the women's meet by a 100-92 margin while Arcadia's men's squad was defeated 109-59 by the Pioneers.   Junior Stephanie Bartolotta (South Brunswick,NJ/South Brunswick)and first year Lindsay Mills (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) paced the Knights with the only three first place times of the evening.

Following WPU's opening win in the women's 200 Medley Relay, Mills helped Arcadia's cause with an impressive 9-point first place win in the 1000 Freestyle (11:54.63), leaving her team trailing by just 4 points on the scoreboard (15-19).  Bartolotta narrowed the gap to a three point (25-28) deficit following her first place victory in the 200 Freestyle (2:09.38).  The pair of first palce win for Arcadia's women occurred back-to-back however the Knights were unable to sustain the momentum as WPU would go to place first-second in four of the next five events, posting enough points to swim exhibition in the meet's final three events.  Bartolotta added a second place time in the 100 Freestyle (59.30) and a first place uncontested time of 1:20.05 in the 100 Breastroke and although swimming uncontested, Mills' time of 5:49.85 in the 500 Freestyle was enough for an outright win.
Third place uncontested time for Arcadia's women also included junior Lauren Myers (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) in the 50 Freestyle (28.49), Mills in the 100 Butterfly (1:11.94).

Arcadia's men were led by first year Ryan Mahoney (Phoenixville, PA/Great Valley), placing third in the 100 Freestyle (12:13.81) and senior Steven Neafsey (Ardmore, PA/Lower Merion) placing third in the 100 Butterfly (1:02.94).
