Arcadia splits twinbill with E'town to close season
Elizabethtown, PA:  5/1/10 -  Arcadia University Softball closed out the 2010 season with a 7-1 win over host Elizabethtown College, after the Knights dropped the opening game 10-2 in the 6th inning in today's Commonwealth Conference Softball season closer.  The Knights end their season with a 14-25 overall record while going 5-9 in the Commonwealth.  Today's league doubleheader was the regular season finale for both teams and while the Knights will miss out on a return trip to the C'wealth tournament, Elizabethtown remains hopeful at 7-7.

Virginia Buechel '11 led the Knights in game one, going 2-3 with 1 RBI, which came in the 3rd inning when Arcadia scored their only runs of the game.  Kellie Reese '11 took the loss from the circle, ending her season with a 9-13 record.

Fords sweep Knights in non-league play
Glenside, PA:  4/29/2010 -  Arcadia University Softball closed out their home schedule this afternoon, dropping a pair of non-league games to cross city opponent Haverford College, 10-2 (6 inn.) in game one and 6-1 in the nightcap.  Arcadia drops to 13-24 overall and will play their regular season finale at Commonwealth foe Elizabethtown College this Saturday.

Haverford ( 17-17) pitcher Casandra Searls held the Knights hitless in game one until Arcadia was able to plate a run in the bottom of the fourth, after the Fords were leading 4-0.  Kellie Reese '11 hit a double to centerfield which brought home Ashley McCarthy '11 who had reached on a fielder's choice earlier in the inning.  Haverford used a four-run fifth and two-run sixth to take a 10-1 lead and Arcadia would add another run in the bottom of the sixth but left two men on when the game would end by the eight-run rule with the Fords winning 10-2.  Reese was tagged with the loss through 5 innings of work.

In game two, the Fords would strike first again with a two-run second inning.  The Knights got on the board in the bottom of the fourth as Corrine Showalter '13 scored on a ground out to short from McCarthy.  But again, the Fords earned a critical four-run inning in the top of the 5th to take a 6-1 lead which eventually stood as the finale.  Kelsey Roberts '11 took the game two loss for Arcadia.  The Fords out-hit the Knights 1-7 in game and 3-11 in game one.

Johnson homerun gives Knights split with defending league champs

Glenside, PA:  4/23/10 -  Given only three opportunities all afternoon, Arcadia University needed just one of their three hits to earn a split in today's Commonwealth Conference softball doubleheader with Messiah College, the defending league and Division III national champions.  It came after Messiah's ace pitcher Jessica Rhoades tossed a 9-0 no-hitter to the Knights in game one.  On the second hit Rhoades allowed of just 3 on the day, Amy Johnson '12 drilled a third inning lead off home run over the center field field to give Arcadia a 1-0 lead in game two.  That one run stood through a solid seven inning outing from Kelsey Roberts '12, who tossed the 1-0 shutout win, allowing Messiah just 5 hits, with one walk and two strike outs for her 6th win of the season.

In the opener, Messiah (31-6, 10-2 CC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one and produced a three-run third, two-run fourth and one-run fifth for the 9-0 win.  Rhoades faced 16 Knight batters and fanned 14 of them in game one as she improved to 22-1.  Kellie Reese '11 (7-11) took the loss for the Knights.  In game two, Erin Wojcieszyn '12 and Marissa Perez '13 added the other Knight hits.

Today's win for Arcadia (13-22, 4-8 CC) snaps an eight game losing skid as they hang just the season's second league loss on Messiah, who had a 13 game winning streak haulted.

Arcadia will host Haverford College in non-league play on April 27th at 3 PM before traveling to Elizabethtown to close the Commonwealth regular season on May 1
.

Softball comes up short against Rutgers Camden
Glenside, PA:  4/22/10 -  The Knights fell to 12-21 overall on the year following a pair of losses Thursday to non-league opponent Rutgers-Camden University.  The Scarlet Raptors outhit the Knights 13-5 in game one, going on to win 7-2.  In the nightcap, Helene Bonnot '12 (4-5, 1 run, 4 RBIs in game two) connected on a two-run single to tie the game at 7-all, forcing extra innings where the Scarlet Raptors outscored Arcadia 6-4 in the eighth frame to take a 13-11 victory.

Struggling as of late without a win in their last eight chances, Arcadia fell behind 7-0 in the opener before finally putting two runs up on the board in the bottom of the seventh.  Marissa Perez '13 drilled a single to centerfield and was later brought home on a two-run single from Kellie Reese '11 that also scored Ashley McCarthy '11.  Reese took the game one loss after allowing 6 earned runs off 13 hits.  She walked one and struck out two.

Rutgers-Camden again jumped out the lead in game two scoring four runs on four hits in the top of the third but Arcadia responded with four runs on six hits in the bottom half of the third to knot the score.  Kristen Burns '10 connected on a two-run double followed by an RBI double from Virginia Buechel '11 before another single RBI single to centerfield from Perez quickly made it a tie ball game.  The Knights tacked on one run in the fifth but the Scarlet Raptors scored three in the top of the sixth for a 7-5 lead.  Following a one-two-three inning from the Knights defense in the top of the seventh, Arcadia salvaged two more scores to send the game into extra-innings.  Buechel led off the 7th with a double to centerfield and advanced to third following a single to left from McCarthy leaving Bonnot her chance to bring the game tying runs across the plate off an infield single.  The Knights would leave 3 base runners on to close the inning and watch as Rutgers-Camden scored 6 runs on 2 hits in the top of the eighth frame.  Not to be outdone, the Knights would score four more runs on four hits but again stranded 3 base runners when the Scarlet Raptors sealed the win on a fly out to centerfield.  Tossing her first game of the season, Corrine Showalter '13 allowed 8 earned runs off 11 Scarlet Raptor hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Game two's top hitters included Bonnot, Perez (3-5, 2 runs, 3 RBIs), Buechel (3-5, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), Burns (3-5, 3 runs, 2 RBIs) and McCarthy (3-4).
Up next for the Knights are the defending Commonwealth champion Messiah Falcons, who visit Glenside on Saturday at 1 PM for senior day.

Cougars steal two from Knights
Glenside, PA:  4/20/10 -  Misericordia University Softball visited Glenside Tuesday afternoon for their annual non-conference doubleheader affair and left town with two wins over Arcadia University, 3-2 in the opener and 5-2 in game two.

Kelsey Roberts '12 worked a 1 run, no-hitter through the 5th inning of today's opening game before Misercordia was able to strategize a comeback.  Virginia Buechel '11 led of the 2nd inning with a home run ball to give Arcadia the early 1-0 lead, and then later in the 5th drove in Helene Bonnot '12, who had singled to open the inning, on an RBI single to short, giving the Knights a 2-1 edge.  The Cougars then produced a one-run 6th to tie the game at 2-all before a 2-out home run to centerfield made it a 3-2 ball game, where it stood as the final.  Roberts finished with a four-hitter allowing 3 runs with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Batting clean up, Beuchel nearly sent today's game two into extra innings.   After Misericordia jumped out to a 5-0 lead after five frames, Arcadia tacked on two scores in the 5th and 6th to cut into the Cougars lead, now 5-2.  With two outs away in the bottom of the seventh and runners on first and third, Buechel took a pitch long to centerfield but was robbed of the game tying homerun as the ball was caught by Caitlin Cromley who had to dive over the outfield fence to come up with the third out.  Kellie Reese '11
took the loss going the distance through seven innings allowing 5 runs off 9 Misericordia hits while fanning 2.  At the plate, Reese went 2-3 with 1 RBI in game two.

Arcadia will look to snap their four game losing skid when they take on Rutgers-Camden University this Thursday at home in a doubleheader beginning at 3 PM.  The Knights (12-19) return to their Commonwealth schedule this Saturday when they host Messiah at 1 PM.

Buechel's grand slam aids Knights in split with Leb Val
Glenside, PA:  4/10/10 -  With one swing of her bat, Arcadia junior Virginia Buechel erased a 3-0 Lebanon Valley lead in the bottom of the sixth inning in Saturday's second game, taking the first pitch dealt by the Dutchmen's Laura Snyder over the left field fence for the grand slam to give Arcadia the 6-3 lead and eventual win in the nightcap, helping the Knights to split today's Commonwealth Conference Softball doubleheader with the Dutchmen.  Kelsey Roberts '11 earned the completed game two win to improve to 4-6 on the year.  The Knights lost the opening match up 2-0 and now stand at 10-13 overall and 3-5 in MAC play.  Lebanon Valley is now 17-5 and today's loss was their first in the league this season as they fall to 7-1.

In the opener, although Arcadia out-hit the Dutchmen 7-5, LVC scored a run in top of the 3rd and another in the 4th
and forced the Knights to leave 10 base runners stranded to pull out the 2-0 win.

In the nightcap, LVC held a 3-0 lead following a run in the 1st and a two-run 6th but things fell apart for the previously undefeated MAC team in the bottom of the 6th when Arcadia's baserunners would finally be brought home.  Laura Snyder tossed back to back walks to Lindsey Henchinski '12 and Corrine Showalter '13 before an error at shortstop allowed Kristen Burns '10 to reach first to load the bases.  Batting in the four-hole, Buechel needed but one pitch which slowly made its way over the fence in left field by the time she rounded first, clearing the bases for the Knights and giving them their first lead of the afternoon, a 4-3 advantage with no outs.  Ashley McCarthy '11 singled and Marisa Perez '13 belted a double to put runners on second and third with no outs.  McCarthy would score on a sac fly from Amy Johnson '12 and Perez followed on a error to give the Knights the 5-3 lead before the inning was complete.  LVC managed a final hit in the top of the 7th frame but Henschinski caught the third out unassisted to seal the win for Arcadia.

The Knights turn right around for a non-league doubleheader with Briar Cliff College tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM.

Game one was tied at 4-all when the Garnett broke thing open in the top of the fifth with a five-run inning.  Junior Krista Scheirer led things off with a double to centerfield and was brought home two batters later on a single from Allie Coleman, giving the Garnet the lead at 5-4. An RBI single from freshman Emily Richardson made it a 6-4 Swat lead with just one out, setting up freshman Kate Smayda for the knockout punch.

With the bases loaded, Smayda connected on a double to deep center field, bringing home two more runs to give Swarthmore an 8-4 advantage, putting the game out of reach.  Arcadia was led by Buechel with 3 RBIs and Kristen Burns '10 with one batted in.  Kellie Reese '11 (6-5) was tagged with the game one loss, allowing 8 earned runs to score on 12 hits.  She walked 1 and struck out 2 through six innings of work.

Burns, Roberts held Knights split with Pride
Glenside, PA: 4/1/10 -  Arcadia catcher Kristen Burns '10 went 3-5 including a home run in each game, with 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored behind a stellar second game from Kelsey Roberts '12 in the pitchers circle, who hurled a 5 inning complete game 4 hit-shutout to help Arcadia University Softball to a Commonwealth Conference twin bill split with Widener University Thursday afternoon in Glenside.  Widener out-hit the Knights 10-4 in the opening game for a 6-3 victory before bowing to the host Knights in the night cap as Arcadia took the game 8-0 (5).  Arcadia improves to 8-11 overall and 2-4 in the Commonwealth while Widener improves to 12-6 overall and 1-3 in league play.

In the opener, Widener plated a pair of scores in the top of the first frame and one in the third to take a 3-0 lead.  Lindsey Henchinski '12 (2-4, 1 RBI) helped the Knights to their first run when she drilled a double to left field scoring Erin Wojcieszyn '12 (1-3, 1 run scored) who had doubled to left earlier in the inning.  The Pride tacked on two more scores in the fifth to go up 5-1 before Arcadia could respond in the bottom of the sixth with the first of Burns' two home runs of the afternoon, a two run bomb that made it 5-3 Widener.  The Pride knocked in one more score in the top of the seventh and held the Knights hitless in the bottom frame to win 6-3.

The Knights came out swinging in the second game and took a commanding 6-0 lead after two innings giving Roberts, who displayed her best outing in the circle of the season, a cushion to work with.  It was Burns again that helped the Knights offensive attack, drilling a three run homer in the top of the first allowing Arcadia some breathing room and their first lead of the afternoon.  Another Henchinski (1-3, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored) double to left field brought home Amy Johnson '12 in the bottom of the second making it 4-0 before the Knights plated two more scores to go up 6-0.
Widener would notch the final hit of the game in the top of the third but left two men on base as Roberts continued to have a stellar day, as the Pride failed to produce anymore base runners in the fourth and fifth.  Arcadia would end the game in the bottom of the fifth, when Burns singled to begin the inning.  Corrine Showalter '13 (1-3, 1 run scored) doubled to center field and the Knights would score run number 7 on a passed ball and with the bases loaded, Wojcieszyn took a pitch to the body that allowed Showalter to cross home plate for the 8-0 Knights victory.

The Knights return to action at Swarthmore College on Thursday, April 8 for a non-league doubleheader.  Their twin bill scheduled with Delaware Valley for Tuesday, April 6 has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Knights, Eagles split non-league twinbill
Glenside, PA:  3/31/10 - Playing one day following the orginally scheduled matchup, Arcadia University hosted Eastern University in today's non-league softball doubleheader and split with the Eagles, taking game one 8-0 and dropping the night cap 5-3.  Arcadia's record now stands at 7-10 (1-3 Commonwealth) while Eastern improves to 8-11 (1-3 Freedom).

The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening inning of game two and didn't allow the Knights a score until the bottom of the fifth when Brandee Zablotsky '13 scored on a double to right center from Kristen Burns '10.  Eastern picked up three scores in the top of the sixth, the most damaging a two-run double to right center off the bat of Stephanie Weaver before an unearned score made it 5-1 Eastern.  The Knights waited until the bottom of the seventh to make their move and from the first batter it looked like trouble for Eastern.  Brittni Holland '11 singled to start the frame and Zablotsky nailed a home run making it 5-3 with no outs but a pair of ground outs and a pop up to center ended Arcadia's chances as the Eagles took the game 5-3 and salvaged the twinbill split.  Zablotsky finished game two going 3-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored to lead Arcadia at the dish.  Kelsey Roberts '12 took the loss on the hill, going 7 innings allowing 4 earned runs off of 6 hits, with 5 walks and 4 K's.

Detra reaches win no. 351 as Knights route Norwich 7-1
Mrytle Beach, SC:  3/17/10 -  351 and counting.  Arcadia softball (3-4 overall) picked up their third straight victory this morning, routing Norwich University 7-1 in Mrytle Beach, SC as head coach Linda Detra's career victory tally continues to grow.  Detra began the 2010 season with an overall mark of 348-204-1 but the Knights went 0-4 against Division I and II opponents last week to open the season in Hampton, VA and have since settled in with three straight wins behind four batters hitting .364 or better.

On the mound this morning was sophomore Kelsey Roberts (1-1 overall) and she went the distance giving up 1 run on three hits with 5 walks while striking out 4.  Norwich scored their lone run on an RBI producing double in the sixth, with Arcadia leading 3-1.  It was the only extra-base hit allowed by Roberts, who picks up her first win of the 2010 campaign.

Kristen Burns (3-4, 1 HR, 3 runs scored, 4 RBI) led Arcadia at the dish, and opened the game's scoring on an RBI single to center that scored Lindsey Henchinski (2-4, 1 run scored).  The Knights plated a run in the second and third innings to go up 3-0 on an RBI single to center from Kaitlyn Chasse (2-3, 1 run scored, RBI) and a third inning lead off home run from Burns, her first of the season.  Roberts would allow just one run on two hits across the fourth, fifth and sixth before the Arcadia bats erupted for four runs on 5 hits in the bottom of the sixth to take a commanding 7-1 lead.

Brittni Holland (1-3, 1 run scored, 1 RBI), Virginia Buechel (2-4), Amy Johnson (1-3, 1 run scored) and Ashley McCarthy (1-3, 1 RBI) rounded out Arcadia's top hitters.

The Knights close out their four-game series with Norwich University with tomorrow's double-header which begins at 9 AM in Mrytle Beach, SC.

Coach Detra earns win no. 350 on Buechel 8th inning walk-off
Myrtle Beach, SC: 3/16/10 - Down one run in the eighth, junior Virginia Buechel drilled a walk-off home run that scored senior Kristen Burns and lifted the Knights to their second win of the season, topping Norwich University 4-3 in Myrtle Beach, SC this morning.
Junior Kellie Reese (2-3 overall) earned the win, her second of the season, pitching the complete game, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits while striking out 10.  Buechel (4-4, 2 runs scored, 3 RBI) was perfect at the dish, hitting for the cycle.   The win gives Arcadia (2-4 overall) head coach Linda Detra the 350th victory of her 18 year coaching career.

Norwich plated two runs to open the scoring in the top of the third and Buechel responded with an RBI single that brought Amy Johnson (1-2, 1 run scored) home to cut Norwich's lead in half.  Neither team would score in the fourth and fifth.  Buechel ripped a triple to right center to lead off the sixth inning and tied the game on an one-out RBI single to left off the bat of Erin Wojcieszyn (1-3, 1 RBI).  The Knights would leave two men on base to end the inning and dealt Norwich a one-two-three inning to force extra innings.

A one-out RBI single plated a Norwich run in the eighth but they left two men on to close the inning with a one-run lead, 5-4.  Arcadia would have their fair-ups and needed just one batter to win the game.   Burns took second on the extra-inning rule with Buechel leading off at the dish and drilled a walk-off home run to win the game.  It was her first run home of the 2010 season and her 95th career hit.

Mrytle Beach, SC:  3/15/10 - Kellie Reese (1-3 overall) worked her way through a complete game 11-6 win over Stevenson University Monday morning to lead Arcadia Softball to their first win of the season at the open of play in Mrytle Beach, SC.  The win was highlighted by a pair of strike outs in the top of the seventh to end the game as the junior went 7 innings with 5 earned runs scored on 8 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Assistant Coach earns Doctor of Physical Therapy degree
By Michelle Tooker ’07
For Assistant Softball Coach Meredith Mayes, D.P.T. ’10, softball has always been an important part of her life. While an undergraduate at Albright College, Mayes played shortstop for three years and pitched during her senior year. An excellent athlete and student, she also toured throughout Italy and the Netherlands with the British National Team and in the Czech Republic with a U.S.A. Athletics International team. Upon graduation, the thought of no longer running bases or pitching curveballs was too daunting, so Mayes contacted Head Softball Coach Linda Detra to see if Arcadia needed her help as a coach. Detra was impressed with Mayes. “Meredith is an outstanding young woman who makes a valuable contribution to my coaching staff because of her international softball experience and her desire to teach the game as it should be played,” says Detra. “After a stellar career on the diamond, she has made a smooth transition to coaching and recruiting without losing her passion for the sport that she loves.”

MayesWhen she’s not coaching the Knights, Mayes was studying to become a physical therapist, having earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Arcadia's commencement ceremony on February 15.  She chose Arcadia’s program because of the unique curriculum.  “It’s very clinically oriented and hands-on,” she says. During her first clinical rotation at NovaCare, she enjoyed interacting with patients. “Talking to people about how much PT has changed their lives reminded me of why I’m doing this and why I love it so much,” says Mayes. “It solidified the fact that PT is what I want to do.” Mayes also embraces the Arcadia Promise of global perspectives.

As an undergraduate, Mayes garnered international experience while spending 10 days conducting research in Peru. “It was one of the greatest experiences in my life—to spend time in the jungle and spend time with the local people,” she says. Mayes plans to do service abroad with the PT program in Guatemala. Mayes also has experienced firsthand Arcadia’s commitment to personal attention with Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy Dr. Scott Stackhouse ’97M. “I’m one in 52 students, and he will take time out of his life to help me,” she says. “He will do anything in his power to help students succeed.” Mayes makes her own personal commitment to the team and says, “I want to focus on the girls having fun, in the long run that’s what it’s all about.”

MAC releases Softball preseason poll, tab Knights 4th
Annville, PA:  3/1/10 -  [Full Release] The Middle Atlantic Conferences released it's annual softball preseason poll on Friday which is voted upon by the league coaches.  The Commonwealth Conference coaches selected Arcadia University to finish 4th in the league standings, and if all holds true, the Knights will make their second post-season trip to the Commonwealth Conference tournament which begins May 7.

Arcadia finished fourth just a season ago, advancing to their first C'wealth Championship Tournament.  While they finished as the fourth best team in the league, six players were named to the All Commonwealth teams.  Head coach Linda Detra returns three of those players to the 2010 lineup, including senior catcher Kristen Burns, junior third baseman Virginia Buechel and sophomroe shortstop Lindsey Henchinski

Burns, who batted .500 in the Knights two post-season chances, was ranked second in the league in RBIs with 37 behind the Rookie of the Year, Messiah's Jaclyn Merkel, who had 38.  Behind the plate, Burns committed just 2 errors in 41 games this season while racking up 37 hits, 8 doubles, 3 homers and 19 walks at the dish, where she batted .339, fourth best on the squad.  Buechel, who led the squad batting .381, finished second in hits (48) and tied for first with home runs (4) receives her first all-conference selection for her play at third base.  Against her Commonwealth opponents, Buechel finished 2nd in runs scored(36), 3rd in doubles(12), tied for 3rd in RBI (31) and 5th in slugging percentage (.571).  She will begin the 2010 season just 12 hits shy of the 100-hit plateau.  Henchinski, who ranked second in batting for the Knights in 2009, led all Knights with 52 hits as a first year which was 2nd in the league, and batted .374 with 33 runs scored in 40 starts.

Junior Kellie Reese returns as the Knights top ace on the mound, boasting the 5th best ERA (1.86) in the C'wealth a season ago.  2009 NCAA Division III National Champions Messiah was selected to repeat as league champions in 2010 while Lebanon Valley and Widener were picked s finish the regular season second and third respectively.

Arcadia will endure an early season test when their season begins on March 12 at Hampton University (VA).  They will take on Division II schools Pace University (NY) and Barton College (NC) and Division I schools Central Connecticut State and Coppin State University (MD).
The Commonwealth schedule begins on March 24, with the teams’ doubleheader home opener against Albright College.

Softball determined for second straight post-season run
After placing six players on All Conference teams and their first trip to the Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament, the 2010 edition of Arcadia Knights Softball is young but competitive with their sights set on a return trip to the postseason.  “What we lack in experience, we will hopefully make up for with hustle and determination, states head coach Linda Detra.  Detra, who enters her 18th season at the helm, recognizes her team’s schedule includes tough competition on both their spring trip and in conference play.  The season begins on March 12 at Hampton University (VA) when they take on Division II schools Pace University (NY) and Barton College (NC) and Division I schools Central Connecticut State and Coppin State University (MD).

Leading the Knights this season are four year players Kristen Burns, a catcher from Sussex Tech (DE) and Brittni Holland, an outfielder from Kingsway High School (NJ).  Burns was a First Team All Conference selection last year.  Jessica DeFluri from Brick High School (NJ) brings two years of pitching experience back to the squad.

Because of their extensive game experience, the three juniors on the team will also be called upon to provide leadership.  Virginia Buechel (3B) from Sparta (NJ) and Ashley McCarthy (2B) from Norristown (PA) will anchor the Knights’ infield.  Buechel was voted to the Second Team All Conference during her sophomore season.  Kellie Reese, a starting pitcher from Liberty High School in Bethlehem (PA), boasts a career Win-Loss record of 12-9, having pitched 9 complete games over her first two seasons in the circle.

The sophomore class makes up the majority of the Knights roster, including two Second Team All Conference selections.  Selected as All Stars were shortstop Lindsey Henchinski, Winslow Township (NJ) and outfielder Jenn Sevitski, Council Rock South (PA).  Kelsey Roberts from Kittatinny (NJ) returns on the mound after compiling an impressive 7-4 Win-Loss record during her rookie season.  Outfielders Helene Bonnot from Pennsbury (PA) and Erin Wojcieszyn, Dover (DE), as well as infielders Amy Johnson, Rancocas Valley (NJ) and Kaitlyn Chase, Conwell Egan (PA) and catcher Danielle Sweeney, Archbishop Ryan (PA) are all competing for their second season.

Rookies on the squad include outfielders Brandee Zablotsky from Central Dauphin (PA), Corrin Showalter from Mifflinburg (PA), Marissa Perez from Archbishop Ryan (PA), and Danielle Fregosi from Pennsbury (PA). All four are expected to bring speed and hustle to the 2010 Knights’ squad. Also competing for the first season are sophomore Komal Patel, a pitcher from Danbury (CT), and first year Jennalee Swain, a catcher from the High School for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia (PA).

The 2010 edition of Arcadia Softball is working hard to prepare for the spring trip to Virginia and South Carolina. The first twelve games on the schedule will hopefully pave the way for a successful campaign in the very tough Commonwealth Conference.  The Commonwealth schedule begins on March 24, the teams’ doubleheader home opener against Albright College.
