In recognition for his accomplishments in the classroom, as a researcher, and in clinical practice, Dr. Philip McClure, Professor of Physical Therapy and Director of the Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy program, has received the highest honor an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member can receive. On June 8, he was elected a Catherine Worthingham Fellow, an honor that recognizes "those persons whose work has resulted in lasting and significant advances in the science, education and practice of the profession of physical therapy."
"This is a wonderful honor," says McClure. "It has caused me to reflect back over my career and consider how fortunate I've been to work with some really great people who have helped me to be successful—everyone from early professors and clinical mentors to academic colleagues and many, many students. It's both humbling and gratifying to look back and consider all the people who have helped to shape my career and make my professional life so rich and rewarding." His acknowledgements include Dr. Rebecca Craik and his colleagues at Arcadia University "who have provided a wonderful environment in which to grow and be challenged and stimulated" as well as "countless students who have worked hard to implement ideas, challenge and sharpen my thinking, and keep the whole process fun."
