Meeting a Campaign Priority: New Scholarship Awards
When At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University was launched during Fall 2007, there were only 30 named and endowed
scholarships available to students. Today, with generous support to the Campaign, the number of endowed scholarships has doubled.
Despite this success, the Campaign continues to raise much-needed funds as scholarship support translates into a life-changing opportunity
for each student.

Scholarship Luncheon. Sica is planning to travel and study art in Florence, Italy, and
Glasgow, Scotland, through Arcadia’s College of Global Studies. The scholarship was
established by Leonard and Jane Korman ’77 and the Korman family. Jane Korman
graduated with a degree in fine arts and is a juror for numerous craft shows, a member of
the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Modern and Contemporary Art Committee, and cofounder
of the former Swan Gallery of Philadelphia. The Kormans are avid art collectors
and met Sica on campus in December.

from her estate to establish the scholarship award. McDougal earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business Administration and, after graduating, went on to a 43-year
teaching career. She “took great pride in her career as a teacher,” says her sister-in-law,
Mary P. McDougal whose daughter, Maureen Solterer, attended Arcadia’s 2010 Scholarship
Luncheon. Solterer has commented that, “Marian credited her outlook on life to
her college experience, enjoyed her time at Arcadia and wanted to give back to what was
