Learning and Teaching Facilities
Computer labs are located in Boyer Hall, Brubaker Hall, and Landman Library. The following labs are open for student computing: Boyer Hall 8, 14, 19; Brubaker Hall 304, 305, 307; and LL1 and LL3 on the lower level of the Landman Library. Please check under the Technology tab of MyArcadia for computer lab hours.
The following programs are available on all lab computers: Alcohol 101; Cascon; Microsoft Office (includes Access, Excel, Frontpage, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Word); Norton Antivirus; QuickTime; Internet Explorer; SAP Frontend; Shockwave Player; Flash Player; Real Player; Windows Media Player; WinZip; Acrobat Reader. Software programs used for specific courses are available in certain labs. Available software is displayed on a poster in each of the campus computer labs.
Students are provided with 50 MB of network storage space. This storage can be accessed under “My Documents” on the lab computer desktop. Students are encouraged to use flash drives to save large files. Students can also save their work on floppy disks. CD burners are available in some labs. Students should SAVE OFTEN and make several BACK-UP COPIES of their work.

There are over 50 Instructional Media rooms on campus for use by the Arcadia community. These rooms contain permanently mounted data projectors, PCs, VCRs and DVDs. In addition, a number of classrooms are equipped with an interactive pen display system that allows for the saving and posting of whiteboard notes and annotations.
Landman Library's Information Commons are technology-enhanced study and learning areas for students who are working on collaborative projects. These areas feature a wide variety of software including SPSS, Inspiration and Adobe PhotoShop. The Information Commons rooms on the first and second floors contain high-end workstations, a 25” LCD panel, and a DVD/VCR player. Students may reserve these rooms in advance by using the online Library Information Commons Reservation Form available on MyArcadia's Landman Library Web site. The Multimedia Area is located on the ground floor of Landman Library. LCD flat screens and DVD/VCR players are available for users to view movies or listen to CDs and LPs. The area also holds the Library’s Multimedia Collection, comprised of DVDs, VHS, LPs and CDs. Next to the Multimedia Collection are six computers equipped with software such as Real Producer, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premier. Microfilm readers are also available. Faculty/Staff Resource Center
The Faculty/Staff Resource Center is located on the lower level of the Landman Library. The Center provides access to PC and Macintosh computers for various tasks:
- Access to almost all campus software packages
- Scanners with automatic document feeders and slide scanning
- Video capture capabilities
- Access to digital equipment, still and video cameras
