Arcadia Named Among Top Places to Work in Philadelphia
Glenside, Pa.—March 23, 2010—Arcadia University was named among the Top Workplaces 2010 by the Philadelphia Inquirer on Sunday, March 21. Arcadia was ranked #16 among the largest employers in the region. See the rankings.
Top Workplaces 2010 gathers information from the point of view of workers themselves, using WorkplaceDynamics L.L.C. to ask employees to rate their companies and their bosses, including a series of open-ended questions.
When asked to complete the sentence, “I love my job because…,” one Arcadia employee said, “The opportunities to try new things, develop new courses, and begin new endeavors for the university.” Another responded, “This is a fabulous place to work. It is a real community. I feel stimulated and challenged, not just by my job, but by the students and all others around me.” “What impresses you most about senior management’s understanding of what is happening in this organization?” asked the survey, drawing this response: “They are considering the issues that we will face in five to ten years and what we must do now to be prepared for them.”
