Arcadia University Freshman Studying Abroad in London for Spring 2012

Glenside, Pa.—Jan. 31, 2012—Arcadia University’s First Year Study Abroad Experience (FYSAE) students departed on Jan. 21 for England where they are experiencing multicultural, contemporary and global London as their campus through Arcadia’s London Now program.

The 27 freshmen are studying abroad in London, England as part of Arcadia University’s FYSAE program. Students are housed with other American students studying abroad through Arcadia in one of two Arcadia-run facilities.

Students participating in Spring FYSAE are: Selina March, an International Studies major from Downington, Pa.; Yvette Alexandrou, an International Studies major, from Alna, Maine; Kirsten Spickler from Milroy, Pa.; Danielle DiVerde, an International Studies major from Massapequa, N.Y.; Linnea Ryan, a Psychology major from Lexington, Mass.; Sheena Buchanan, a Chemistry major from Sellersville, Pa.; Amanda Maillet, a Biology major from Leominster, Mass.; Valerie Hackett, a International Business and Culture major from West Hartford, Conn.; Sara Burik, a Psychology major from Easton, Pa.; Yongxuan Tan, a Computer Science major from Garland, Texas; Kelly Nolan from Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; Aimee Malzahn, a Biology major from Rockaway, N.J.; Tara Smith, a International Studies, major from Riverhead, N.Y., Gabrielle Thomas, a Global Legal Studies major from Avon Grove, Pa.;  Helen Liang, a International Business and Culture major from Bensalem, Pa.; Aro Han, a double major in International Studies and English from Allen, Texas; Natalie R. Sperring, a Chemistry/Pre-Physical Therapy major from Limerick, Pa.; Kathryn Breitmayer from Downingtown, Pa.; Frances Dumlao from Leonia, N.J.; Justin Gomez from West Chester, Pa.; Russell Heasley, a Finance major from Phoenixville, Pa.; Elizabeth Kornecki, a History major from Philadelphia, Pa.; and Melissa Pastoriza., an English major from Philadelphia, Pa.

Arcadia University’s FYSAE program is now in its ninth year and provides a rigorous educational experience in an overseas setting that allows freshmen, irrespective of their intended major, to make normal academic progress toward an Arcadia bachelor’s degree while expanding their cultural awareness and independent learning ability.
