In the rapidly changing world of business and industry, writing for new media, such as the Web, Podcasts and CD ROMS, has become a central skill for entering the job market and progressing in writing careers. Writing for The Web and New Media will address the stylistic and formatting concerns of writing for hypertext and visual media, with special attention given to rhetorical concerns of audience, interactivity, and document topography. Students will analyze, construct and write multimedia text in various assignments, creating a portfolio of finished work.

Climbing the corporate ladder takes skills that are not often taught in school. Corporate Writing introduces those writing and thinking skills that are absent from many curriculums. This course is designed around one corporate scenario, and through this scenario, takes students through the development of both internal and external corporate documents. Students will sharpen analytical, writing, and communication skills, culminating in an understanding of how successful corporate change takes place.
