About Volunteering
Community service enhances classroom learning with life's experiences.
It offers the chance to develop new skills and to gain valuable experience.
Different forms of service can be targeted to develop the skills needed.
Upon entering the work force, community service provides an opportunity to learn more about the field of work you are interested in. Doing community service in that field will allow you to possibly make the decision on whether that field of work is for you. It allows you to find out more about who you are, your interests, and your strengths and weaknesses.
Many employers encourage community service. This will help to further develop ones resume as the community service can be placed as a reference. Having community service references demonstrates experience, initiative, skills, involvement, and maturity.
