Student Grants

PA Scholars Service Award  (Arcadia University Students Only)

For any student interesting in completing service hours in one year and then receiving an AmeriCorps Education Award which can be applied to college expenses. Students who complete 300 service hours in one year will receive a $1,175 grant and those that complete 450 hours will receive $1,468 at the end of their term. Community Service Workstudy and America Reads Workstudy hours can be used toward this goal.  (Closed for the 11-12 school year)

The Pa Scholar Program is for student leaders who care about making an impact on the community. This coming year's emphasis will be on recruiting and managing other volunteers for community based organizations and schools working under the five AmeriCorps Focus Areas (Education, Environmental Stewardship, Veterans, Economic Opportunity, and Healthy Futures). Arcadia already has affiliations with some organizations that meets these needs, can you as a volunteer bring more to campus?

Although Scholars will often volunteer on many sites throughout their term of service, it is expected that they have one primary site placement. The scholar would then be able to form a real relationship with the organization, helping in a direct on lasting way.
