ALANA Recognition Ceremony
Graduating seniors of African, Latino, Asian and Native American (ALANA) descent and their families are recognized at this ceremony for their unique journey to graduation. This ceremony is held every May.
Ally Training and Pinning
The Office of Multicultural Affairs is offering Ally Program Training for new and returning allies. Allies believe that all people regardless of sexual orientation should be treated with dignity and respect.
Black Male Development Symposium
Dr. Doreen Loury an Arcadia University Assistant Professor of African American Studies, with the help of a community and college-based advisory board, hosts the Black and Third World Press' Black Male Development Symposium for Pennsylvania at Arcadia University.
Arcadia University Statement on Campus Civility
Members of the Arcadia University community encourage all individuals and groups to behave with civility. Arcadia University also affirms every community member's right to an environment that is free from harassment of any kind. View Campus Civility Statement.
Cultural Conferences
The Office of Multicultural Affairs encourages Arcadia students to participate in various conferences. The Office has supported students' attendance at the National Black Student Leader Conferences, the Fattah Conference on Higher Education and the Educational Women Leaders. These events provide students with information, exercises and activities as well as an environment to interact with national and international leaders
Heritage Celebrations
Several offices, organizations and individuals collaborate to lead cultural celebrations throughout the year. The offices of Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities along with the Multicultural Organization Coalition (MOC) ensure that these week-and month-long celebrations occur each year.
MLK Day of Service and Commemoration
The Day of Service is a major event led by the Community Service Office. In conjunction with this event, the Office of Multicultural Affairs organizes the activities to commemorate the life and ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Multicultural Organization Coalition Retreat
The annual retreat for student leaders of organizations that promote multiculturalism and diversity includes workshops on best practices in leadership event planning and group development.
Multicultural Leadership Award
This Award is given to Arcadia University students who demonstrate exemplary leadership through their contribution to enhancing multiculturalism and diversity in the Arcadia and/or surrounding community are recognized annually at the University's Student Leadership Award Ceremony.
Race Matters
This series of discussions was developed in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Sociology Department to bring racial awareness to the Arcadia community. These discussions are lead by students and an opportunity to express their thoughts and experiences with the topic.
Student Leadership Series
This series of workshops and discussions features high school and college people who have actively started organizations to solve a social justice issue at the local, state, national or global level.
