Preview for Transfers

Study Abroad Opportunities for Transfer Students

Arcadia's distinctive Italy Preview—which includes a week of travel over spring break—now includes exciting options for transfer students in other countries.

Preview gives transfer students a unique opportunity to study for a week abroad and earn 2 credits—all for just $495, including transportation and hotel accommodations.

Arcadia's College of Global Studies will plan social activities in the evening as well as some meals to immerse students in the local culture.

What does the Preview experience include?

  • Roundtrip airfare and ground transportation
  • Programmed activities
  • Hotel
  • Some meals
  • Two credits

Total value of the Preview program, available only to new full-time transfer students, is more than $2,800, but is offered to full-time Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 transfers for only $495.

How do I earn credits for Preview?
Preview’s participants will meet for class on Friday afternoons beginning in late January. Students must attend class if they want to go on Preview. Students will be notified in the fall semester about the time and location of the classes. Participants will also complete a group project to be presented to the University community upon return to Glenside.

Who is eligible for Preview?
All new full-time transfer students who remain in good standing and are enrolled full-time at the time of departure can participate in Preview the following spring.

Who will accompany transfer students on this study abroad experience?

Each cohort of about 20 transfer students will travel abroad with one faculty and one staff member.

Do I need to know the language to participate?
No. This opportunity is open to students with and without language competency.

Is this program restricted to students in specific majors?
Preview is open to transfer students in all majors.

How do I sign up?
All eligible students are notified by e-mail in early fall about the online registration. The deadline for Preview registration is mid-October with payment and passport copy due December 1. Current students will received specific details by e-mail. A fee waiver is possible for students with financial hardship. Honors students are not required to pay the program fee but are responsible for passport/visa fees, meals and incidental expenses.
