Italy Preview
A Study Abroad Opportunity for Transfer Students

Spend Spring Break immersed in the culture of Italy
and earn two credits!

Don’t miss your chance to explore one of the world’s most distinctive countries where history, culture and cuisine combine for an unforgettable experience! View famous art, visit historic sites, discover unique neighborhoods and outdoor markets, relax in an outdoor café, and sample Italy’s famous dessert, gelato, as part of a two-credit spring course that begins in Glenside and culminates in Italy.
Arcadia's College of Global Studies will plan social activities in the evening as well as some meals to immerse students in the Italian culture.

Total value of the Preview Program, available only to new full-time transfer students, is more than $2,800, but is offered to full-time Spring 2009/Fall 2009 transfers for only $495 thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor.

How do I earn credits for a trip to Italy?
Italy Preview’s participants will meet for class on Thursday evenings beginning in late January next year and concluding in late March. Students must attend class if they want to go to Italy. Students will be notified in the fall semester about the time and location of the classes. Participants will also complete a group project to be presented to the University community upon return to Glenside.

All new full-time transfer students who remain in good standing, and are enrolled full-time at the time of departure can participate in Italy Preview the following spring.

Who will accompany transfer students on this study abroad experience?
Each cohort of 20 transfer students will travel abroad with one faculty and one staff member, as well as Arcadia's Italy staff.
Do I need to know Italian to participate?
No. This opportunity is open to students with and without Italian language competency.
Is this program restricted to students in specific majors?
