Arcadia’s tradition of free hot dogs and Alumni Celebrity Grillers kicks off today (Wednesday, Sept. 8) at 4 p.m. as the women’s soccer team plays the first official game on the New Field, facing Cedar Crest College. Also watch for a special appearance by the Arcadia Knight mascot.

The campus community is invited to come see the new field, cheer on the Knights, and enjoy free hot dogs and cold drinks.

Arcadia Trustee Chuck Lentz ’03M, Principal at McKinley Elementary School in Abington, will lead the Alumni Celebrity Grillers as they serve up hundreds of hot dogs and free cold drinks to students, alumni, staff, faculty and parents and friends attending the game. Also grilling are Alumni Associate Vice President Eva Korolishin ’10, University Counsel Mike Korolishin, and Assistant Alumni Director Nancy Woerhle.

The free dogs are sponsored by the Alumni Association, Parkhurst Dining Services, the Bulletin, Facilities and Grounds, and the Athletics and Recreation Department.

“Our goal is for alumni to have fun interacting with students and to support the teams,” says Alumni Director Georgene Pilling. “Look for us—or follow your nose!—to the white tents on the new field.”

“Special thanks to Professional Celebrity Griller Keith Cook from Parkhurst for keeping a watchful eye on our amateur grillers,” said Lori Bauer, Bulletin editor and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “And to Jen Rodolfo and the Parkhurst staff who do an incredible job of keeping the dogs coming.”
