Arcadia Students Log Face Time with Potential Employers at Career Fair

Arcadia University’s Office of Career Development hosted an Internship & Career Fair on Oct. 18 in Grey Towers Castle. Employers such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Prudential Financial Services, the Civil Service Commission, and the Philadelphia Zoo were recruiting for a variety of positions.

“Tuesday’s Internship & Career Fair was very successful,” says Mike Hertel, Director of Career Development. “Student attendance and participation was the highest we’ve seen during the fall semester, and comments from the recruiters indicate they were very pleased with the quality of Arcadia students.”

“Events such as this provide students and recruiters an opportunity to connect face-to-face. One of the most common mistakes we see students and alumni make in their job search is to rely almost entirely on the Internet and online job boards. Even in today’s age of electronic connectedness, the face-to-face interaction is a crucial element of any job seeker’s success.”

Many of the students who met with employers at the Internship & Career Fair took part in the Career Fair Kick-Off  a week earlier, recieving advice from Career Development staff on everything from proper attire to résumé formatting.
