Six of Arcadia’s finest men will go head-to-head for the title of Mr. Beaver 2011 on Saturday, Oct. 22. The annual event, sponsored by the Student Programming Board, begins at 8 p.m. in the Kuch Center Gym.

This year’s theme is A Red Carpet Affair; each competitor will play the role of a favorite Hollywood star or starlet. Various residence hall and apartment floors, clubs and organizations, sports teams and other student groups are sponsoring the participants.

Brian Montgomery ’14 will play the part of Britney Spears. Damien Van Hart ’12, who competed for the title in 2010 as Barbie, will appear as Lady Gaga this year. Issac Israel ’14 will look for more than a simple life as Paris Hilton. Sean McGovern ’14 will portray 50 Cent, while Sanket Patel ’12 will bring the party as Snooki. And finally, because the Red Carpet wouldn’t be the same without a touch of old Hollywood glamour, Marcous Marchese ’15 will charm the audience as Marilyn Monroe.

The contestants compete in several events, including a swimwear competition and a question-and-answer session with this year’s master of ceremonies, Ross Mathews. Mathews, a popular comedian, began his career in comedy as an intern on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and frequently appears on the E! Network’s After Lately.

A dance in the Dining Hall will follow the event at 10 p.m.
