Arcadia University’s Puro Ritmo dance group performed at the 42nd Welcoming Reception for International Students and Scholars in the Chinese Rotunda of Penn Museum on Oct. 21. Hosted by International Classroom and 65 area colleges, universities and programs, the event drew more than 1,000 international students and dignitaries.

Puro Ritmo joined an all-star international lineup that included La Salle University’s Neo-African Drums ’n Dance group and Mutya Philippine Dance Company from the Philadelphia area. Members of the club met with many of the international dignitaries and exchanged a few words with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.

“Our students thoroughly enjoyed themselves on Friday evening, especially shaking hands with Mayor Nutter,” said Jan Finn, Associate Dean for International Affairs. “This is a great opportunity to showcase some of the international networking available in Philly. Our students and professors meet with other like-minded, globally engaged citizens.”
