The Middle Atlantic Conference announced the 2012 women’s tennis All-Commonwealth Conference teams and recognized both Beth Osipowitz ’12 (Aberdeen, N.J.) and Kaila Gaughan ’15 (Millville, N.J.) as Second Team selections.

The duo proved to be a mighty force as Arcadia’s top doubles pairing in 2012, finishing with an overall record of 6-4. They ran through four straight opponents in Eastern University and Commonwealth rivals Lycoming, Alvernia and Messiah.

In singles action, Osipowitz faced every opponent’s top competitor when she took over the No. 1 spot on April 5. In addition to this, her first all-conference nod, she finishes her four-year career having earned three MAC Academic Honor Roll selections and the 2011 Sportsmanship Award. Osipowitz graduates later this month with her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.

In her first intercollegiate season Gaughan posted impressive numbers during singles play, playing both the No. 2 and No. 3 positions for the Knights. She finished 2012 with an 8-6 overall record. Gaughan tore through six straight opponents without dropping a set, with three of those victories coming against Commonwealth foes Lebanon Valley, Albright and Alvernia.
