Kynourgiopoulou Presents on Tangible Cultural Heritage in Athens

Dr. Vicky Kynourgiopoulou, Professor at Arcadia’s Center for Italian Studies, presented a talk in Athens on the protection of tangible cultural heritage, titled  “EU legislation on repatriation claims and architecture and nationhood: Interpreting the new Acropolis museum.” She discussed this topic in her chapter “National Identity Interrupted; The mutilation of the Parthenon Marbles and the Greek claim for repatriation,” which appeared in Contested Cultural Heritage: Religion, Nationalism, Erasure, and Exclusion in a Global World (Springer Editions) in November 2011.
