Dr. Doreen Loury, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Director of Act 101, was honored with the 2012 Charles Henry Chapman Award, given by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s Zeta Omicron Lambda Chapter on May 12, for her work with community and academic organizations on the Black Male Development Symposium. Loury was unable to attend due to her participation in BMDS.

Founded in 1908 at Cornell University, Alpha Phi Alpha is the first black, intercollegiate Greek-lettered fraternity. The award is named after one of its original founders, Charles Henry Chapman, Professor of Agriculture at what is now Florida A&M University.
